Heat, Misfits acquire Vainglory team
Esports organization Misfits and its partner NBA organization Miami Heat have acquired Vainglory team, Fates Zero.
The esports side already owns teams in League of Legends, CS:GO, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, Super Smash Bros.
Misfits CEO Ben Spoont said: “We are excited to enter Vainglory, the leader mobile esport.”
Twitch reaps in 2016
Twitch claimed 2016 was a big year for the streaming giants, according to its statement.
According to the statement, there were 2.2 million unique streamers and 292 billion minutes of streaming watched.
The streaming giant also raised $25.3 million for charity.
Dota 2
Kiev Major qualifier to have region locks
Teams who want to reach the Kiev Major are now prohibited to compete in the open qualifiers outside their region, according to the new rule first reported byFACEIT’s Milos Nedeljkovic.
The new rules will prevent a similar situation in the Boston Major American qualifier, where two EU teams – Prodota and Elements Pro – competed in the NA open qualifiers. The rule does not, however, will still allow an outsider team to compete in a region if they have 3 of 5 players who are originally based on that region.
“Rule for the open qualifiers is that if a team is physically located in a region, they are allowed to play there,” Nedeljkovic told theScore esports.
Kiev Major tickets are already sold out two days after it got released.
747 officially joins Complexity
Eric “747” Dong has now made his stay with Complexity Gaming permanent.
747 stood in for col.Dota after the team lost its midplayer Antonio “cancel^^” Mihai, who stepped down after poor performances in the team’s Elimination Mode 3.0 journey.
Dong was a teammate of col’s carry David “Moo” Hull in Team Archon in 2015.
FRIENDS win Champions League 10
F.R.I.E.N.D.S outclassed Horde 2-0 to win the Dota 2 Champions League Season 10 final.
The CIS side took home $2,500 as the champion, while the Swede group pocketed $1,500.

Cho’ Gath features in Patch 7.4
Rejoice Cho’ Gath users, your favorite Void monster has now caught up with the patches and is now ready to become your team’s tank for all the clashes to come!
Also in the patch are improvements for ADC champions, making them better in the laning and early games.
True to their promise, champion Maokai also got some reworks with more on the way.
ROX signs Mightybear
ROX Tigers have bolstered their lineup, acquiring veteran jungler Min-soo “Mightybear” Kim, according to a Facebook post.
Mightybear played for Team Vitality before briefly joining Giants Gaming at IEM Gyeonggi, but has been out of action since then.
“From the beginning of my career I started in different regions,” said Kim. “I still haven’t experienced playing in LCK but with lots of practice and my experience in LCS I would really like to help the ROX Tigers go to Worlds.”
Spring Split Update
SKT T1 and KT Rolster are tied at the top of the LCK table but have a chance to compete for the solo lead as they face each other in Day 3 of Week 6.
In NA LCS, Phoenix 1 stunned leader Cloud9, who is now tied with Team Solo Mid in the top of the standings. P1 is third in the table, tied with FlyQuest eSports.
G2 Esports proved their dominance in the 2017 EU LCS as the Group A leader thumped Group B pacesetter Unicorns of Love 2-0 in their meeting in Week 5. G2 remain undefeated in seven series, while UoL is 5-1 in 6 games.
In China, Royal Never Give Up has now took over in Group A of the 2017 LPL Spring Split, extending their win run in series to four and grab the solo top spot. RNG stunned both Invictus Gaming and LGD Gaming, who are second and third in the group, respectively.
CS:GO
EnVyUs inks ScreaM
Team EnVyUs has officially signed Adil “ScreaM” Benriltom ending weeks of heavy speculation about his move.
The former G2 Esports player was supposed to play for FaZe Clan but the negotiations fell through, paving way for his move to nV.
ScreaM, 22, has stood in for nV, playing in place of David “devoduvek” Dobrosavljevic in some competition.
Peacemaker stays with OpTic
Luis “peacemaker” Tadeu has announced that he will stay as OpTic Gaming coach, up until at least the end of the IEM Katowice.
“As I mentioned on my insta(gram), I’ll be in action again at IEM Katowice for OpTic,” said peacemaker in his Twitter account. “My future is not 100% yet. Ty greenwall for all the love.
OpTic Gaming placed 9th-12 at DreamHack Las Vegas, splitting two games with North and bowing down to Astralis.
VP win DH Las Vegas
Virtus.Pro turned back SK Gaming 2-1 at the DreamHack Las Vegas Grand Finals and bag $200,000 as champion.
SK Gaming, who pocketed $100,00 as runner-up, won the first map, Cobble, but bowed down to VP in Train and eventually got beat 11-16 in Mirage.
Astralis entered the tourney as tournaments but ended tied with North in 3rd to fourth place.
